As the Senate debates the climate omnibus, some of our work is still moving forward in other places. We ask you to once again contact your Legislators. Air Quality: Senator Jehlen has filed amendment #119 to the Housing Bond Bill, to be voted on Thursday. The amendment creates a mold task force to develop a statutory and/or regulatory framework to address identification and remediation of indoor air pollution and indoor mold contamination in publicly and privately owned housing. The task force shall also identify funding sources for implementation of the recommendations. (Sample email below)

Massachusetts’ climate is slated to become wetter and warmer- a perfect combination to increase mold in our already aging houses and buildings. It is critical that we direct our attention and resources on this public health issue, especially for our environmental justice populations.
